Joss, Robert, and Trev all met when they attended West Bridgford School together. Robert and Joss played in a band together, Oh Henry!, when they were only thirteen years old. The very first time they ever played as the band “Dog Is Dead” was with Trev in a high school concert. The history of the name has had two different stories told about. The first was said that the guys came up with the name after a joke that was their favorite at that time and the second story was they named the band after Richard III. Trev is the one that brought Rob white, which goes by Paul Roberts so there is not two Rob’s in the band, and Lawrence Libor.
The group started playing at school concerts and at parties of their friends’. After a while, the band began playing live shows at bigger venues in Nottingham. A couple of years later, they debuted a promotional EP that was released by their very own label, Your Childhood Records, and then had some performances at Splendour and Dot to Dot. As the years went on, these guys became a bigger hit and released even more singles and EP’s.

They are all just down to earth guys that love to joke around and have fun just like any normal person. Between touring and doing promotional stuff, they all enjoy spending time together even though they see each other constantly due to working with one another and they love being with their friends and family as much as possible. They all caught a lucky break when Atlantic Records signed them in the year of two thousand and eleven.
Not only have these guys made a name for themselves in the music business but they also have appeared on TV as well. The British TV popular teenage drama show, Skins, had them appear as themselves after the person that wrote the script went and seen the guys in concert. Quite a few of their top hits were featured in episodes of the show which helped album sales for the band.
In the year 2014, the band decided to change their name from “Dog Is Dead” to “D.I.D”. Most of the time everyone will see the first “D” backwards when it is featured on album covers and such. “Hotel” was the first album that was released with the new name on the title. They have continued on with touring and writing music. In 2015, the band released an EP named “Fast Food” and then their second album was released at the end of two thousand sixteen.
The band has exceptional talent and will continue to write and play incredible music for many more years to come. With the awesome talent and their great sounds, these guys will definitely be played on every teenagers iPod in the country.
